Since early childhood, English has always played an important role in my life. From devouring Frog and the Toad books and the Babysitters Club in elementary school to recalling the thrill of my first publication in high school, English was always my favorite subject. Throughout my education and into my career, I had the privilege of having excellent teachers and/or mentors who inspired me to pursue my current path of teaching and one-on-one tutoring. For over 8 years, I've been educating students in various levels of English, from beginners to advanced prep coursework. I make sure to help each student recognize the joy of reading, along with keeping to high scholastic standards. When I had to begin preparing my students for the Texas STARR state-imposed testing, a full 100% of my class attained the base requirements, 97% reached the recommended achievement standard, and 32% scored in the advanced range. For students willing to learn and put in the effort to study, I am confident that my lessons can help them develop the skills needed to achieve success.
